Labrador Retriever / Chow Chow / Mixed Dog

Kermit the Dog needs a home

Hi! I'm Kermit the dog. Get it? Like Kermit the frog but a dog... Anyways, some info about me, I'm a large boy at 70 lbs and am in the prime of my life at just 5 years old. It's up for debate but I think I'm a mixed breed of Leonberger, Chow Chow, and Retreiver, but the short way to say it is, I'm a mutt. And that's just fine with me! I'm a handsome guy, so much so that people stop in their tracks to tell me what a good looking dog I am. But forget looks, I have a cool personality too! I am a happy-go-lucky guy who loves to be loved. I'm a total goofball as well so you'll get to laugh with me all day long!

I love my people. I'm the perfect protector and will always be loyal to you. Speaking of things I love, one of my favorite things is to be pet. Endless petting would be my dream come true. Belly rubs are the best though! I have a soft and shiny brown coat so you won't mind petting me one bit. If it's time to watch TV, I can happily settle down on my dog bed and relax with you. But when that's over, I'd like to play in the backyard. I can do a lap around the backyard in record time because I have such a large stride. Squirrels beware :) A few laps later and I've had my workout for the day (approx 20 mins is ideal). Being such a big guy, it doesn't take much to wear me out but it's important for me to be active daily. I'm good on walks as well as riding in a car. Oh and I'm a perfect gentleman at the vet/bathing/groomer.

I'm a lucky guy. I know that for a few reasons; First I was rescued by Paws In The City. Then they diagnosed me as being Heartworm positive and got me the treatment I needed to get well again. Next, they invested in me and got me the training I needed to get me on track to being my best self. I have some of my best years left to live. I've been given another chance at life so now I am looking for the right person/people to be my forever.

My perfect person/people would live in a house with a big fenced-in backyard. They would be active and would want to spend lots of time with me. They wouldn't have a kitty cat as I think they are fun to chase (sorry, not sorry). They wouldn't have young kiddos since I'm such a big goofy guy, I'd very likely knock them over by accident--I'm a klutz what can I say?! Also, I'd really like another doggie sibling although I tend to be a bit picky. I mean who really likes everybody, right?? I think being selective is a good thing... I can't really narrow it down to a type of dog I like or don't like so much as I like to be the alpha. I'm a bit stubborn, it's the nature of my breeds. But boy am I lovable and sweet. My forever home would be patient with me and would continue to work with me on my training.

We could have the best time together for forever! I'd love to meet you! Please call 214-263-2100 if you are interested in more information.
